Draw up the following tables and graphs: 

Belt transect:

  1. Table of the raw data.
  2. Table to show the how plants vary across the transect for % cover, species number and composition per quadrat.  Include bare earth and rock.
  3. Profile to show plant heights.

Line transect:

  1. Table of the raw data.
  2. Table to show the how plants vary across the transect - species number and composition per quadrat. 
  3. Profile to show plant heights.

Analysis:

  1. Summarise the results for each method.
  2. Compare each method:
    • Do they tell the same story?
    • Which provides the most suitable data?
    • What are the pros and cons for each method?
    • Which method would you adopt?
    • Can you improve on these methods?  Suggest how you might do this?
